Afro House disc jockey, DJ Soso announces a new collaboration song titled “Umile”


DJ Soso (real name Lebohang Motaung) is has released a new Afro-House single titled “Umile” in collaboration with vocalist Bukeka, producer Ozy Man (real name Karabo Modika), and the award-winning Gospel Dance production duo AB Central (real names Andile Nkosi and Bassanio January).

Johannesburg, South Africa – [10 June, 2025] – Seasoned South African producer, recording artist and Lebohang Motaung alias DJ Soso has released a spiritual tune “Umile” alongside songstress Bukeka, instrumentalist Ozy Man and the multi-award-winning production duo AB Central on May 30, 2025. “Umile” proclaims the Lord’s sovereignty and might, and encourages listeners to trust in the Lord’s power and ability to protect them in times of peril.  

Fitting the ever growing 3 Step sound, “Umile” is a Gospel Afro-House tune enjoying warm reception in dance floors across the country and gaining increasing popularity on radio stations including being playlisted on Radio 2000 and Jozi FM. The song debuted on Spotify on the 6th of June landing editorial playlists “Sunday Praise”, “Fresh Gospel Africa” and “Gospel Greatness”. The song features hypnotic percussions, a strong progression of piano chords, as well groovy Afrocentric synthetic elements. The instrumental is accompanied by Bukeka’s majestic vocals which include a catchy sing-a-long hook “Hallelujah, Amandla nobukhosi bungobakho (power and kingship is yours).  

The drop of “Umile” coincided with the Ingoma Awards nomination party where the song collaborators AB Central received two nominations for “Best Gospel House” and well as “Best Gospel Collaboration”. These nominations come at the back of the duo winning both these categories in 2023 and 2024 respectively. Considering AB Central’s reach in the Gospel Dance space, Bukeka’s following from in Afro-House fans, and DJ Soso’s influence on the South African night-life, “Umile” has all the right ingredients to become a hit.

  South African DJ and recording artist DJ Soso (real name Lebohang Motaung ) is has released a South African Spring anthem, and an Afro-House single titled “Call Me” in collaboration with vocalist Mr OG Afroking (real name Fisani Moyo ), co-producer Ozy Man (real name Karabo Modika ).
